Kiulu launches Tourist Pass for eco-tourism adventures



The Kiulu Tourist Pass, which is valid for one year, will be made available to visitors from April onwards for adventurer looking to undergo the numerous eco-tourism venture in Kiulu, at a lower price.

Sabah Tourism Board chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said this is one of the initiatives to promote eco-adventure tourism in Kiulu.

The RM5 pass will see RM3 returned to the society to help develop tourism activities.

Many ventures have been lined up for the month-long event such as a traditional food and drink, cultural fest, fiesta, tamu (market), and a legal fishing challenge.

Miri Century Ride attracts international field


The inaugural Miri International Century Ride on March 26 had six races and offer prize money total RM12,900.

Although the 400 cyclists involved mostly Sarawakians there were riders from South Africa, Germany, Holland, United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and the United States.

The event was organized by Masterpiece Cycling Club and Specialised Miri, has six categories: Men Elite Open, Men Veteran, Men Masters, Men Junior, Ladies Open and Mountain Bike.

Assistant Tourism minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin and Miri mayor Adam Yii flagged-off for the event at Imperial Mall & Permaisauri Imperial City Mall.

The event is supported by Ministry of Tourism Sarawak, Miri City Council, Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba), Royal Malaysia Police and Cycling Association of Sarawak.
